In honor of Women’s History Month in March, we are running a Getac Profile series to celebrate female leaders at Getac. As the digital specialist of Marketing at Getac, Corrie Griffiths protects and promotes the Getac brand. When not at work, you’ll find Corrie going for a walk while listening to podcasts.
What brought you to Getac?
After working in the hospitality industry, I was looking for a new opportunity and wanted to branch out into something completely different while still having a marketing role within a company. Rugged computers were something I was unfamiliar with, which made me curious.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
The fact that I get to create something new and collaborate with people every day. I enjoy working with the marketing team and various vertical teams to put together different marketing collateral like social media posts and product flyers.
What’s something that has surprised you about working at Getac?
How truly great the culture is! Everyone is always willing to step in and help each other out.
Have you always been interested in communications?
I have always loved art and design, so I felt that marketing was the perfect combination of that within the business world. It’s also a bonus in marketing when you can see the direct results of your efforts.
Who or what inspires you professionally?
I have a lot of successful women in my life that I look up to! Seeing them lead a team or become a patent owner while always building up those around them has really inspired me to achieve the same.
How do you manage work/life balance?
With working from home, I spent months working at my kitchen table before I finally bought a desk. Having a space that is just for work has helped separate work life from home life.
What’s an interesting fact about yourself?
I love collecting postcards everywhere I go and sending them to my friends and family to keep in touch.
When are you most productive during the day?
Mornings! Once I have my coffee, then that is when I can focus best.
