STATE OFFICE FOR DIGITISATION, BROADBAND AND SURVEYING RELIES ON GETAC RUGGED COMPUTING SOLUTIONS

Mettenmeier and Getac win framework agreement with LDBV

Mettenmeier and Getac win framework agreement with LDBV

Düsseldorf, 02.06.2025 - The State Office for Digitisation, Broadband and Surveying (LDBV) , based in Munich Germany, is the central point of contact for the entire field of official surveying in Bavaria. In future, the LDBV will rely on rugged Getac K120 tablets to optimise digitisation and efficiency in surveying.

The framework agreement with the LDBV was won with Getac's long-standing German Platinum Partner Mettenmeier. The first 739 customised Getac K120 solutions will be delivered in June 2025 - an important step towards technical innovation for Bavaria, the largest federal state in Germany with an area of around 70,550 square kilometres.

Versatile application possibilities of the Getac K120

The powerful Getac K120s are specially designed to meet the requirements of the LDBV and can be used as notebooks or tablets in a variety of ways. They offer a detachable keyboard and various docking solutions. With the option of using openSUSE Linux on this device, the rugged K120s have been customised to the specific requirements of the LDBV to ensure optimum support.

Eric Yeh, Managing Director of Getac Technology GmbH, emphasises: "We are delighted to support LDBV with our customised, powerful and rugged computing solutions. Leveraging advanced technologies, the solution is designed to support digital transformation by enabling faster and more secure processes through enhanced reliability , which leads to high efficiency in the daily, demanding tasks in surveying and field service."

The LDBV has 51 offices for digitisation, broadband and surveying (ÄDBV) throughout Bavaria, with 22 branch offices. With over 500 surveying teams, they record changes to parcels of land and buildings on a daily basis and enter them into the real estate cadastre, which comprises around 10 million digital parcels of land. Approximately 30,000 property surveys are processed there each year. In addition, the LDBV supports local authorities in the expansion of high-speed internet. "We are driving forward the digitalisation of our processes and are convinced that the flexibility and versatility of the Getac K120 devices, which we can use both as tablets and notebooks, will significantly increase our efficiency and responsiveness. In addition, the use of openSUSE Linux is an important prerequisite for the nationwide roll-out," says an LDBV spokesperson. He continues: "In particular, the competent and reliable expert support from both Mettenmeier and Getac was one of the key factors in the decision-making process."

Exemplary cooperation for Bavaria's digital infrastructure

The partnership between the LDBV, Mettenmeier and Getac is an example of successful co-operation to support and strengthen the digital infrastructure in Bavaria. With the introduction of these powerful computer solutions, a significant increase in efficiency in the workflows of the offices for digitisation, broadband and surveying will be achieved, which will considerably optimise daily work processes.
