Mechanical modifications
We offer limitless customization for flight line maintenance and other demanding military operations. Military personnel often need to react quickly, grabbing and using equipment under time pressure. Equipment is also constantly transported by land, air, and sea. During transit, devices may be exposed to vibrations, shocks, and rough landings.
Tailor ultra-rugged devices with extra protection covers and reinforced structures to keep devices functional and reliable, even in such extreme conditions and during rough handling.
Our devices can be designed to be highly resistant to dislodgement and prevent foreign object damage (FOD). For easy device management, we can also assist you in pre-applying the IUID (Item Unique Identification) label before roll-out, saving time and reducing the burden on military personnel in charge of IT.

Customizing Military Device for Increased Functionality
Rugged tablets are built for the most demanding environments, but what about the data you rely on? PCMCIA cards, while still crucial for many military planning and operations, are often incompatible with modern high-speed computers.
Getac customized the S410 rugged laptop to be able to use 2 PCMCIA readers in a single device, by adding a PCMCIA reader into the Battery Bay. This adjustment added an important capability to the device, allowing it to be used on more air frames. This expands the functionality of military computers and communication equipment by opening up room for peripheral functionalities. In addition, a new rubber door was placed on the PCMCIA IO port to maintain the S410 IP (Ingress Protection) rating, where electrical enclosures are protected against dust, water, and other foreign body intrusions.
