Getac, the world’s third largest fully rugged computing solution manufacturer, today announced that as part of its global sales expansion plan, it has appointed Uwe Hennig as its Country Director in Germany to lead the rugged computing business development in the DACH region, including Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Hennig will operate from a new Getac sales office to be opened soon in Dusseldorf, Germany in Q2, 2010. In addition to the DACH sales operation, Getac also has named Antonio Carotenuto as its new business development manager in Italy to work closely with Getac’s key partners to assist them in exploring business opportunities.
"Getac is committed to develop our rugged computing brand. Followed by the sales force expansion and move of our US office to a newer, spacious modern building in Irvine last quarter, our next step is to increase the strength of our sales management team in the fast growing countries like DACH region and Italy." said James Hwang, President of Getac Technology Corporation. "We are very pleased to have Uwe Hennig and Antonio Carotenuto to join us as part of our global sales expansion strategy. Their presence in the local market will enable Getac to provide dedicated pre and post sales service to existing customers and to attract more new customers. Looking ahead, we are well-positioned to continue our positive momentum while still providing a high level of support to our partners, clients and prospective clients."
Uwe Hennig, to be based in Dusseldorf, specialized in the area of rugged handheld business throughout his career, brings with him a proven track record in driving rugged handheld sales in the DACH regions. Prior to his new appointment to Getac, Hennig held senior management positions in some leading rugged handheld companies.
Antonio Carotenuto, to be based in Milan, spent over 17 years as the key account manager and sales team leader of the leading rugged computing company and helped to gain the position of market leadership in Italian market. Antonio’s last role before joining Getac was the sales manager of a major Italian distributor for three years, holding responsible for the sales and distribution of rugged computing products including notebook, tablets and handhelds.
The increase of Getac presence in the Germany and Italy will provide quicker response times and a more accurate information portal to its existing client base when they require product or technical support, which will ultimately result in a comprehensive service for clients in European region.
