Getac today announces it has partnered with 28 year-old VW driver Kyle Owen-Bradshaw who will be competing for this year’s VAG Trophy. Getac has worked closely with sports marketing agency Varoosh Sports Partnerships to develop the program and looks forward to continuing the relationship to ensure that maximum impact is delivered throughout the duration of the partnership. The championship, due to take place in six different locations between April and October, is regarded as the most exciting saloon car championships in the UK and one of the most inclusive championships in motor sport.
“A substantial part of Getac’s growth has been supported by the automotive industry globally,” comments Chris Bye, President for Getac UK. “So it’s great to be supporting the UK’s up and coming racing talent, we’re thrilled to be a part of Kyle’s journey as he competes for the VAG Trophy”. Getac is a major player in providing the industry with technology to support service workshops, research and development activities and manufacturing.
Kyle will be competing as part of Team HARD, a group fronted by BTCC driver Tony Gilham that also works towards nurturing young racing talent. Gilham comments: “We’re using Getac technology in our testing and training scenarios, as well as to help improve efficiencies in the pit. Getac’s support will also help Kyle on his journey towards success.” In 2016, Team HARD came first to sixth in the VAG Trophy, third in the Volkswagen Racing Cup, first and second in the BritCar 24-Hour Endurance Debut and fourth in the MSA British Touring Car “Independents” Championship.
Race driver, Kyle Owen-Bradshaw, who is also an accredited Senior Audi RS Specialist technician, has been racing since the age of seven and is currently a supporter of various charities such as the BEN Automotive Industry Charity. “I’m very excited about Getac’s support during this important moment in my racing career. Aside from proving myself on the track, I also want to prove to a vast amount of people, that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.”
Getac offers a wide range of rugged mobile devices, from tablets to laptops, for the automotive and other harsh environment industries where fast access to data, reliable diagnostics and servicing are critical. From the dealership and service stations, through to manufacturing and even in the pit lanes and on the race track, Getac provides reliable technology that allows professionals to perform at their best. The #GetacRacing campaign begins at the first VAG Trophy round in Northampton at Rockingham Motor Speedway on the 29th of April and ends on the 28th of October after the sixth and final round at Oulton Park International Circuit in Cheshire.
