Dusseldorf, August 20 2018 – Rugged computer manufacturer Getac has continued its impressive growth throughout the automotive industry. Based on forecasts for 2018, sector sales have increased by 160 percent over the past two years. The company will be showcasing a variety of its robust and flexible devices, designed specifically for use in tough working environments at the Automechanika Auto Show in Frankfurt from 11-15th September, 2018.

One of Getac’s most globally recognized customers is car manufacturer Volkswagen AG. The Wolfsburg based company uses Getac’s fully-rugged A140 tablet and the semi-rugged S410 notebook as diagnostic devices in its workshops and throughout its development and production processes. Both devices will be displayed at Getac’s booth, hall 8.0 stand F23.

The A140 is the largest and most powerful Getac tablet ever produced. Its 14-inch display offers unrivalled ease of use, while Getac's Lumibond® 2.0 touch screen technology makes it easy to read both indoors and outdoors, even in direct sunlight. Despite its significant processing power, the S410 notebook is also extremely lightweight and compact, making it ideal for workshop and production environments where workers are constantly on the move. Getac also guarantees a comprehensive worldwide service, while its industry-leading bumper-to-bumper warranty even covers accidental damage, ensuring peace of mind for all customers.

Innovative product solutions for every automotive application

Only Getac manufactures rugged computers down to the chassis itself. As a result, its engineers can concentrate on customer requirements and applications when developing new products and suitable protective casings against workplace hazards including drops, shocks, spills, vibration and more. Getac also pays close attention to device connectivity, meaning its devices are extremely easy to integrate into existing IT environments. It even offers customised services, such as tailor-made software imaging for automotive customers.

Increasing sales and high customer satisfaction in the automotive industry

Getac’s consistent approach and best-in-class solutions have led to a global sales increase of 160% throughout the automotive industry in just two years. Much of this growth has come from satisfied existing customers issuing repeat orders to make their internal processes even more efficient. In addition, numerous well-known automotive companies such as Volkswagen AG have made new investments in Getac equipment.

"Our products enable international automotive manufacturers and suppliers to accelerate the digitalisation of their process chain and aid the adoption of industry 4.0 standards faster, with higher efficiency," said Eric Yeh, Getac Sales Director DACH region.

"Getac’s global service, industry-leading bumper-to-bumper warranty and reliable integration with existing infrastructure gives our customers complete confidence in the solutions we provide and minimises disruption through IT failure, even in the toughest work environments," adds Chris Bye, Getac Automotive Sector Director EMEA.

Product highlights at Automechanika 2018: Getac S410 notebook and A140 tablet

Getac’s product presentation at Automechanika 2018 will focus on the semi-rugged S410 notebook and the fully-rugged A140 tablet.

The new generation of the S410 is more robust, lighter and thinner than its predecessors, providing greater processing power and improved graphics applications. As a diagnostic device, it is characterised by high reliability, ease of use and shock resistance.

The A140 with its 14-inch display is the largest Getac tablet so far, providing high on-screen data capacity and wide viewing angles. The A140 also has a wide range of carrying and mounting options, making it ideally suited to mobile use. It is dustproof and resistant to water. The battery can also be replaced during operation to prevent interruptions. Getac’s revolutionary LumiBond® 2.0 touchscreen technology supports various touch modes for rain, glove and pen operation, meaning garage and workshop operators do not have to take their gloves off to operate the tablet efficiently.

For questions about corporate strategy and product range, Getac’s Automotive Sector Director EMEA Chris Bye will be available at Getac’s booth during Automechanika in hall 8.0, stand F23.
