LimaCorporate deployed the Getac K120 tablet for digital transformation of its manufacturing process management for its orthopedic reconstructive solutions.
LimaCorporate is an Italian global orthopedics firm with a history dating back 70 years, producing state-of-the-art prosthetics and orthopedic solutions that focus on returning “eMotion of Motion” to joint reconstruction patients.
Lima considers digitization critical to its business development, which is why they initiated a dematerialization project across their entire production line, for faster and more traceable operations. To improve data management and production line efficiency, and eliminate a massive volume of paperwork, a reliable and advanced mobile rugged solution, suitable for use on and around their production line, was needed.
After testing and analysis of various options, Lima chose the Getac K120 fully rugged tablet, with its robustness, shock, and drop tolerances, 12.5” display, integrated barcode scanner, up-to-date operating system, and hot-swappable batteries (enabling use for a full work shift without interruption or data loss) all contributing to their decision.
Another key feature was Getac’s standard three-year bumper-to-bumper warranty, as was the K120’s accessory hand strap, which doubles as a device stand for easy tablet use while propped up on a workbench.
Combined with a software solution integrated with the company's ERP, the K120 has been Lima’s primary tool for transforming production steps previously handled on paper, with the reduced manual paperwork and processes leading to greater transparency and traceability during production, as well as improved data analysis, faster document control and production work, and improved corporate sustainability (thanks to the reduced paper use) -- a major priority for Lima.
