New partnership underlines Getac’s ‘Total Solution’ philosophy Telford, England. February 19th, 2010. Getac UK, a leading manufacturer of rugged computers that meet the demands of field-based applications, is pleased to announce that it has forged a new alliance with mobile management platform experts, B2M Solutions. The new alliance endorses the synergistic focus of both organisations to design and develop cutting edge mobile solutions and underlines Getac’s commitment to its ‘total solution’ philosophy.
Getac offers a complete line of rugged notebooks, tablet PCs and handheld mobile computers for tasks performed in demanding weather conditions and extreme working environments. All of Getac’s products are built with superior technologies and specifications that aim to meet and exceed virtually every industry's requirements of durability and in-the-field performance. Getac has teamed up with B2M Solutions to offer its customers the mprodigy mobile management platform, which will be available immediately with the Getac PS236 all-in-one handheld and the fully-rugged Getac V100 convertible Notebook/Tablet PC.
The mprodigy management platform is a device management solution which has been designed specifically to increase the productivity of the mobile worker through device and asset management, and sophisticated analytics, which ultimately reduces total cost of device ownership. It encourages operating efficiency and process improvement across the entire mobile lifecycle by providing an accurate view of how business processes are being enacted in the mobile arena. mprodigy will operate over any network: LAN, WiFi or GPRS, providing instant remote access to conduct simple processes which would otherwise cause down time. For example, it enables “push” software updates and installs patches to operating systems across large populations of mobile devices from a single operations centre. It also allows malfunctions to be dealt with hastily to keep devices operational. mprodigy also boasts a tracking feature to provide information on where devices are most effective, as well as monitoring assets to: identify missing devices; reduce pilfering and manage repair cycles efficiently.
“The ability for our customers to effectively manage their mobile device estate is paramount in ensuring a maximum availability to the user and delivering high levels of customer service,” says Peter Molyneux, Business Development Director, Getac UK. “The mprodigy solution has been tested and certified on all Getac products which gives complete peace of mind to our clients that the hardware and software function seamlessly together.”
Peter concludes by saying, “The lifecycle management proposition delivered by mprodigy is unique and allows a much greater return on investment than just device management alone. We look forward to delivering solutions together with B2M in the future.”
Julie Purves, Managing Director of B2M Solutions, adds: “Getac is an ideal partner for B2M. They have considerable experience in the rugged mobile computing market and there are a lot of synergies in our line-of-business focus and go-to-market approach. We look forward to working closely with Getac to build on these strengths to develop new business together.”
